The legendary Witch
Most people have heard of the Witch of Wookey Hole, but who was she and how did she end up a legend?
If you have ever visited our caves, you’ll have seen the outline of a woman who appears both beautiful and ugly (depending on the light and shadow) etched forever in an eerie, large stalagmite.
Read on to find out more about the legend and if you’re lucky you might even get to meet one of her descendents during your next visit to Wookey Hole. We’ve found witches particularly like visiting during school holidays and special occasions.
