Somerset Opera presents La Bohème at Wookey Hole

Performed by Somerset Opera’s talented cast and musicians and sung in English, the production promises to be a feast for the senses. The timeless score – from Rodolfo’s rapturous “Che gelida manina” to Mimì’s tender “Si, mi chiamano Mimì” – will transport audiences straight to wartime Somerset, while the atmospheric surroundings of Wookey Hole add a truly unique dimension to the experience.

Set at the start of World War II in Somerset, La Bohème follows the lives of a group of young artists and friends as they struggle to make ends meet. When the poet Rodolfo falls in love with his neighbour Mimì, their romance blossoms against a backdrop of fun, friendship and fleeting happiness – but fate soon takes a darker turn. With soaring arias, powerful duets and sweeping ensembles, this is opera at its most emotional and accessible.
