Start the next chapter of your love story with a one-of-a-kind wedding at Wookey Hole…

In caves carved by the River Axe over millions of years, amongst the stalactites and stalagmites you can stand within the Mendip Hills, surrounded by clear pools, dramatic ancient rock, and soft candlelight, and make your vows.

If you have a special piece of music you would like played during the ceremony, this can be arranged or, if you prefer live music the acoustics are amazing! With a choice of three Chambers, this is an unusual and magical wedding venue for your ceremony.

The largest Chamber will hold up to 120 guests but the Caves are also intimate enough to offer a ceremony for just a few people.

Reception & Catering for your guests

The magic doesn’t end after the ceremony. You can choose from a number of locations to host your wedding reception to suit your style.

Our restaurant can host up to 200 guests. The room is decorated with colourful ceiling drapes, beautiful chandeliers and glittering lights. It is a charming and fun venue. There is plenty of space for music and dancing and there is a separate bar and an outside area included with your booking.

There are also more intimate spaces available to book for smaller groups.

You’ll enjoy a tailor-made catering service – every wedding is unique and we take time to discuss your requirements and ensure a delicious wedding breakfast is provided. Why not take a peek at our sample menu in our wedding brochures.

The Waterwheel Suite

Another option for your reception is our Waterwheel Suite. This is a large elegant space in our 19th Century, Grade II Listed Paper Mill.  The room overlooks Wookey Hole’s working water wheel, which will be a talking point for your guests.

Inside you’ll find carved panels of exposed brickwork which allude to this building’s rich heritage. For weddings, this space can be beautifully illuminated and adorned to suit your vision for your day.

Comfortable accommodation for your guests

You have the option to stay at the Wookey Hole Hotel as part of your celebration. The hotel offers comfortable accommodation for all your guests with accessible and family rooms available. We have an enormous balconied ‘getting ready’ room, so you’ll have space to prepare for your day.

The hotel is only a few moments’ walk from the Mill where your reception will take place and five minutes’ walk from the caves.

The couple getting married will also receive a number of complimentary extras from Wookey Hole as a wedding present.

Staying in the hotel makes it easy for your guests to relax and enjoy your special day. We can provide a booking code to ensure your guests get the best rate at the point of booking.
