Due to a temporary road closure at Draycott on the A371 between Cheddar and Wookey we have a few alternative recommendations to reach Wookey Hole. These routes take you through beautiful historic Somerset countryside and add very little time to your journey.
If heading from Weston-super-Mare or the North take the A38 towards Cheddar as usual, then turn right at Lower Weare onto Notting Hill Way to Wedmore. From Wedmore take the Wells Road B3139 towards Wells. Before arriving in Wells Wookey Hole Caves are well signposted.
Alternatively from Brean, Berrow and Burnham on Sea you can take the B3139 via Wedmore all the way to Wookey Hole following the signs just before arriving in Wells.
From Cheddar take the B3151 to Wedmore. From Wedmore take the Wells Road B3139 towards Wells. Before arriving in Wells Wookey Hole Caves are well signposted.
Wookey Hole is 2 miles from the beautiful medieval city of wells, and 20 miles from Bath (A39), Bristol (A37) and Weston Super Mare (A371).
