Post: Retail and Admissions Assistant
Reporting to: Retail & Admissions Manager
Main function of the post: To play an integral role in delivering an excellent visitor experience –ensuring a warm and informative welcome to everyone, whilst helping to achieve stated KPI’s through a detailed understanding of our products and services.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Nil
Hours worked: As per contract; 5 days out of 7
Main duties of the post:
- To warmly welcome every visitor to Wookey Hole, always demonstrating excellent standards of visitor service.
- To be fully aware of the key highlights and experiences on offer daily and share this information with visitors.
- To consistently and proactively promote and maximise sales opportunities, identifying and responding to visitor needs.
- To present the Retail product ranges to Wookey Hole’s visual merchandising and display standards, including stock replenishment of all areas.
- To actively seek information on all product lines and share this with visitors.
- To handle and store stock effectively, minimising wastage and deploying Wookey Hole stock control measures including receiving deliveries and participating in stock takes as required.
- To effectively use the electronic point of sales system (EPOS) and Wookey Hole procedures to generate reliable sales information including carrying out opening, closing and cashing up procedures.
- To adhere to Wookey Hole cash handling standards.
- To constantly seek opportunities to improve overall financial performance, providing associated recommendations to the Retail & Admissions Manager for consideration.
- To play a part in ensuring the team operates in compliance with all health and safety regulations, legislation, and requirements.
In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the post holder is required to perform any other reasonable duties from time to time.
