Visitors to one UK tourist attraction would be forgiven for thinking they had mistakenly stumbled into Jurassic Park this Whitsun Holidays as a life-sized Dinosaur will be seen roaming the Dinosaur Valley and delighting guests.
Wookey Hole Caves is pulling out all the stops with the latest attraction to be added to its bill in the form of a Walkabout Dino; a life-like animatronic robot which will tower over families visiting the popular site during Half Term.
With life-like sounds and an animated face which blinks, the Walkabout Dino will move, run and swish his tail around as visitors explore the attraction.
And the magic doesn’t end there as families are treated to a ‘Lost World’ 4D experience in the new neighbouring cinematic theatre which will transport them to a primeval landscape and an exhilarating race against time away from 4D Pterodactyls and a terrifying T-Rex.
Daniel Medley, of Wookey Hole Caves, said: “The Whitsun Holidays are one of our most popular holidays so this year we were really keen to do something special.
“Our Lost World 4D experience has proven really popular with families and our Dinosaur Valley has been a staple of the attraction for years so we decided to continue the theme and introduce a Walkabout Dino.
“Fresh out of the new 4D cinema, where audiences have felt the breath of a dinosaur on their necks and felt the pounding of their feet, they will be greeted with a real-life dinosaur ready to thrill!
“This type of thing has been done at amusement parks in the USA and we think it will go down a storm with our visitors this half term.
“Add to that the existing offering at Wookey Hole Caves with some of the largest show caves in Europe and families are guaranteed to have a full day of fun.”
The familiar Wookey favourites will still be in residence; the Wookey Hole Witch will be meeting and greeting visitors and flying on her broomstick to ensure visitors have a great time. The Wookey Hole Circus will also be showcasing an all new circus show performed in the 400-seater theatre throughout the holidays.
Over 20 attractions are included in the entrance ticket including a guided tour of the world-famous caves, entry to the brand new 4D cinema experience, a daily circus show, mirror maze, crazy golf, pirate zap zone, cave museum, life-sized Dinosaur Valley, fairy garden, paper mill, Victorian penny arcade and Captain Jack’s Restaurant.
Tickets to the attraction cost £18 per adult and £12 per child with under threes going free. A 15% discount is also available for online bookings.
For families travelling from further afield or for those wanting to make a weekend of it, the accommodation package includes an overnight stay in the onsite Wookey Hole Hotel for two adults and two children, entry to Wookey Hole, continental breakfast, a round of crazy golf, fun packs for the kids and free entry into the Mill and Play Areas in the evening for £129.
