Laser battles will commence at Wookey Hole Caves this Whitsun as a spectacular Sci-Fi Circus Show is unveiled; just one of the 20 attractions at the South West’s top day out.
The Las Vegas style production will include acrobats, trapeze artists, jugglers, and some of the film industry’s most famous science-fiction characters, all backed by world leading laser technology.
The new show will be running daily from 28th May to 5th June, and is included in the admission fee.
Daniel Medley, director of Wookey Hole (Somerset) said: “I’ve seen the show in rehearsal and it is a stunning performance from all involved. The acts are sourced from our own circus school, so it is a great opportunity for the children to showcase their skills. With the addition of brand new futuristic lighting and state of the art laser technology, it really sets the stage for our new sci-fi theme.
“Last year we blasted through tons of rock so visitors can now explore the amazing natural chambers 10 and 20, previously only seen by expert cave divers. The new caves are exciting for families, and so many visitors have told us it is like walking through a science fiction landscape.
“We are always looking to add value and entertainment, so the new show picks up on that sci-fi theme and will be a memorable highlight for visitors this half term. After its week-long run we are going to put on the Sci-Fi Circus Show every weekend this summer season, and daily during the school holidays.”
Wookey Hole provides a whole day out whatever the weather, and during the school holidays the Witch of Wookey will be meeting and greeting children, along her friend Rexy the walking dinosaur.
In The Witch’s Laboratory visitors can meet the witch’s pet bat, Harold, who will take families on a journey to the Lost World 4D cinema experience. The old mill building holds a variety of attractions, such as the Mirror Maze, Penny Arcades, Cave History and Cave Diving museums. Little ones can let off steam in the play areas, and then of course there’s the Pirate Adventure Golf.
