Hole Caves and Papermill are an ideal visit-based resource for pupils of all ages,
covering a wide variety of study activities within the National Curriculum. A
teachers guide is available to help you with your visit. Special
party rates are available. The broad
range of educational opportunities on offer have been incorporated into a comprehensive
teachers' guide available for download free of charge from our website. The
guide contains 12 activity sheets suitable for Lower Junior, Upper Junior and
Lower Secondary pupils and 6 factsheets which provide planning and background
information for teachers. School children
can make paper by hand in the Papermill, using the ancient craft skills under
the tutelage of a papermaking team member. Four children are selected, and other
class members will have a clear view of the proceedings. There
are free indoor and outdoor picnic facilities (up to 80 seats each area) reserved
for school and student parties during term time. Drinks,
snacks, hot and cold meals available in the Big Top Restaurant on site.
